Description : Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for the 330 kV Accra - Kumasi Transmission Line and Associated Substations.Prequalification stage of an international, open tender for environmental and social impact assessment services, required by the Ghana Grid Company Limited to support the construction of the 330 kV Accra - Kumasi Transmission Line and Associated Substations.Tenderer: The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo), financed by the Federal Republic of Germany through the KfW EntwicklungsbankProject Objectives:The Ghana Grid Development Company plans to build a 330kV power transmission line from the Pokuase Bulk Supply Point in the GA North Municipality in the Northeast of Accra to the second Kumasi Bulk Supply Point at Anwomaso in the Ejisu Municipal Assembly. The line will have a length of approx. 218,7km. Between the two bulk supply points, the line will drop at the 330kV New Nkawkaw Substation. In addition, the project includes a 4km line connecting the existing 161kV Nkawkaw Substation and the new 330kV Nkawkaw Substation.In terms of the Environmental Assessment Regulations 1999 (LI 1652) of Ghana, the project is subject to an Environmental and Social Impact Statement (ESIS), which requires the approval of the Environmental Protection Agency of Ghana.
