Tenders are invited for Acquisition of the Services of Consultants Project Objectives: The overall objective of the WACMI Project is to establish a common and integrated platform for the listing, trading and settlement of capital markets securities transactions within the capital markets in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) region. The WACMI project seeks to implement in three phases, initiatives and sub-projects towards the eventual integration of the capital markets in the West African region; Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Cabo Verde, Guinea, The Gambia, Liberia and the unified capital market of the eight countries in the UEMOA (Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte D'Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo). Phase 1 of the project facilitated trading among the stock exchanges of Ghana and Nigeria through a Sponsored Access model, where a home country stockbroker acts as a ‘sponsor- of a foreign broker in transacting trades in the home country. The WACMI Phase 2 Project aims to harmonize and validate regulations for trading and settlement of securities in West African capital markets as well as implement other related activities. The Project will deepen the West African capital markets, enabling them achieve scale to attract institutional and retail investors, and broaden the range of capital markets instruments, corporate and sovereign issuances available for mobilization of funding into private and public enterprises. The principal objectives of the project are to: (i) establish a harmonized regulatory environment for the issuance and trading of capital market securities across the West African region. (ii) strengthen capital markets data collation and dissemination for West African Capital Markets. (iii) promote regional cooperation for effective operation and regulation of securities markets in the region. (iv) support the development of a common platform for listing and trading of securities, settlement of transactions, as well as increasing access to long term capital across the region. (v) enhance the knowledge and skills of capital market stakeholders in cross-border investments to promote regional securities trading
